Kei, a cynical and arrogant high school student, has minimal regard for others; so it's much to his surprise that when he's asked by his elementary school friend Kato to save a drunken bum laying on the subway tracks, he actually complies. However, no good deed goes unpunished, and they are swiftly decapitated by the oncoming train. Kei and Kato awaken in a nondescript room occupied by a black sphere and a variety of other people, and thus begins Gantz's game. In it, the players must face off against aliens in battles where death is inevitable and rewards are minimal. Unfortunately for them, this is just the beginning of their nightmare - at least, for those who manage to survive...
Both of these are about high school boys who are thrown into a life or death game not by their choice. They are both suspenseful, well drawn, and have sci-fi type weapons. While reading, I could not help but to think how similar these two are.

Both male leads also get paired early on with a female lead who seems overly interested in him and likely has a serious dark side.
Everyone else who agreed has already explained why both anime are similar so i'm just putting text here so i can agree too.
These animes are both about male main characters being sucked into games where they have to kill to win. Alongside the protagonists, these animes have a female character linked to them as partners. The characters share similar behaviours in both these animes, and there's a similar development of the protagonist throughout.
Darwin's Game Is Just Stupid
The protagonist in both animes is unwilling involved in a game where they have to risk their life to survive. In both animes, players of the game are granted a unique ability, much like a superpower, to help them survive.

While there are similarities between the two protagonists(they are both reluctant to kill in the beginning, but they both adapt to it with time), the difference between the two is more apparent. While the main character in Future Diary is somewhat cowardly and relys on the support of another, the main character in Darwin's Game is
